3 Hacks to Quickly Get Out of A Slump

Feel like you're losing energy?
Notice the dwindling daylight?
Have trouble getting up in the morning?
Hesitant to step outside and walk?
Me too.
Winter is coming.

At least if you're in the northern hemisphere.
It is that time of year when everything but your health and fitness takes center stage.
Friends, family, food, holidays.
It is also that time of year when it becomes more challenging than ever to stay in shape and feel motivated to train.
It's cold outside.
Your joints are achy.
You wear comfy clothes all day.
Nobody can see your body.
It is no coincidence that the winter brings about depression and anxiety.
The lack of sunlight reduces your body's production of neurotransmitters that balance your mood.
Now is the time of year when it becomes so easy to slip into a lazy, unproductive, and unfocused state. Don't let it happen to you.
Let's talk about...
How to Improve Your Mental Health.
How to Improve Your Physical Health.
How to Overcome Negative Thoughts.
How to Improve Your Mental Health, Immediately.
To the men in my audience...

I have a message for you.
Your mental health is the only thing holding your world together.
Stop ignoring it.
People are relying on you to be strong and consistent, no matter what.
Your indomitable spirit and your sense of identity is the only thing protecting you from the pressures of daily life.
It's a battle to stand your ground.
It's a battle to maintain discipline.
It's a battle to maintain your edge.
Men suffer mentally when they do not suffer physically.
The male body is designed to be worked and run ragged.
The masculine physique is the source of your mental strength.
When you begin to feel your mental health weakening, there is only one thing you can do to rejuvenate your salubrity and vitality.
Train hard. Get stronger.
This week I had an epiphany as I was deeply involved in introspection.

Life is full of ups and downs.
There are times when you kill everything and times when everything kills you.
You are a physical specimen.
You are meant to train hard.
You are made of rugged hardware.
You are meant to be driven off-road. Like a tank.
Do you understand?Your performance, mindset, and effectiveness are directly correlated to your physical strength and prowess.
There is no outrunning this truth if you're a man.You perform at your best when you are physically challenged.
Think back to a time when you were the most confident you've ever been.
Just flowing with unapologetically strong energy.
I'll bet $1,000 you were also in your best shape.
Firing on all cylinders like a V8 Mustang. Well-calibrated and dialed in.Want to put your progress on auto-pilot?Want to find the spark of your productivity?Want to perform at the peak of your powers?Start training daily. Hard.Wake up.Workout.Win.
Don't think twice.

Have a Tyson-like attitude towards the world.
How to Easily Improve Your Physical Health.
Balance is bullshit.
If you want to move the needle in any area of your life, you need to become highly imbalanced.
You need to amplify the amount of effort you put into yourself. Big time.
Anti-protocol.
Zero optimization.
Anti-Huberman. (Sorry, I love him too, but you need action, not research).

Stop coping with YouTube Videos and Twitter. Mental black hole.
It's all bullshit.
You don't need research to get moving.
Just go.
So much talk nowadays about having a perfectly balanced life. That’s a fantasy.Trite examples are being passed around by folks who have never devoted themselves entirely to a mission of their own.Balance is heralded as the holy grail of solutions.

It’s nonsense. This advice is designed to...Blunt your edge.Quell your intensity.Neutralize your competitive advantage.Balance means static thinking.Balance means zero change.Balance means neutrality.
Nobody ever did anything worth mentioning while living a balanced life.
Nobody.
You can make more progress by being imbalanced and obsessively disciplined with your training and nutrition in 30 days than by being "balanced" in 90 days.
Go hard for 30 days - balance for 60 (or not).
You'll get much farther.
Quantum. Leaps.
Balance is key when you seek stability. Imbalance is key when you seek progress.
You aren't reading my newsletter for balance and stability. You want change.
I'll be honest with you.
My mental and physical health has not been great for the last month.
And I know why...
I haven't been training nearly as hard as I used to. Taking it too easy on the body. Mental health showing signs. Lack of focus, lack of effectiveness.
VO2 max dropping.
Muscle mass dropping.
Energy dropping.
One quick look at my training records and I see what's wrong.
The thoroughbred ain't getting enough work.
The mind and body are signaling this.

An increase in training volume and intensity for 99% of people will do them good.
Most of you aren't training enough anyway. Turn up the dial this winter.
Increase the amount of physical work you are doing daily as we head into the dark winter.
Is everyone around you overweight and out of shape?
Do the opposite of what they do this time of year.
They sit on the couch in sweatpants → You go out and run in the cold.
They snack on chips and cookies → You devour high-protein meals.
They binge-watch Netflix and football → You crush 90 mins of training.
Balance your lack of serotonin and neurotransmitters with more physical training.
Watch how you radiate energy while others dim their vibes.
Stabilize your mood and energy in the winter by supercompensating with workouts.
Want some help?
I'm running a minimalist training program as I try to get myself back on track.
I've included this program in an e-book alongside the High-Performance Cookbook.
Each workout consists of only 3 basic exercises and can be done in less than 30 minutes. All you need is a pull-up bar. I am working on the coaching video now and will release it soon.
These workouts can be done up to 3x a day (if you're an animal).
The High-Performance Cookbook has tons of recipes and a grocery list to get you going. It's about to get a big update as well.
You know the rules. Quality. Protein. 95% Whole Foods.

How to Overcome Negative Thoughts.

This one is tough but simple.
Become internally oriented.
What the hell do I mean by that?
Be your own compass. Ignore the rest.
Our thinking has been programmed to derive our value from material wealth.
Money, cars, houses, clothing, gimmickry.
The value you place on yourself has been geared towards the external world, where you no longer have control of your self-perception.
You've placed all your eggs in the baskets of others.
This is a major contributor to chronic negative thinking.
You succumb to fake pressures.
You attack goals that you don't even want.
A form of self-punishment and self-torture.
Here's a trick. Stop listening to this noise.
Cut off the TV.
Mute the radio.
Sit with yourself in silence.
Zoom out and hone in.
What would make you feel a sense of identity and accomplishment in the next 30 days?
Is it meeting your fake quotas at work?
Or
Is it stripping 15 pounds of fat and having 3x the energy?
Is it finishing strong in your 9-5 up to the holidays?
Or
Is it showing up to Christmas healthier and stronger than last year, while everyone else does the opposite?
You will never be happy chasing goals that are assigned to you by others.
You must go after self-assigned goals.
Run your mission. Not others.
This will fulfill you more than anything else on the planet.
It will contribute to the formation of your iron-clad identity.
It all starts in the physical realm. Your body.
Aggressively attacking your body in pursuit of conquering the you from yesterday.
It is much easier to feel positive when you know you are a better version of yourself when you wake up each day.
Everything else around you gets harder, but being yourself gets easier.
Pay attention to your negative thought patterns as you enter the winter season.
Combat them with...
Intense physical training.
A wholesome and nutritious diet.
Time and space for self-reflection.
You will 100% feel more resolute than ever. Guaranteed.
Peace out and have a killer week.
